The Temple has always represented a tribute to people you had lost, either previously, or more importantly, in the last year. It is a place of grieving, a place of severe pain and suffering, a place of release, of letting go. Solace, spiritual.
On Sunday evening, the Temple is burned. The experience is a stark contrast from the Man burn the night before. The Art Cars circle but their lights and fires are off. It is quiet as we watch the fire engulf the Temple. No fireworks, no splash - a very spiritual time.
Temple of the Deep by Miguel Arraiz! His design embodies both strength and fragility. Inspired by ancient volcanic rocks from the surrounding Black Rock Desert landscape, it is a sanctuary for shared reflection and healing. Miguel Arriaz invites us all to see ourselves reflected in the Temple’s philosophy of radical acceptance.
